Reproductive loss includes but is not limited to grief after abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth, infertility, and adoption. It affects many people yearly and often brings tremendous pain and challenges to relationships. However, pastors, counselors, and laypeople rarely initiate dialogues regarding reproductive loss, tending to focus on the impact of reproductive "success" when providing pre-marriage and marriage counsel. Therefore, this project aims to create a biblically based online reproductive loss counseling component for pastors, counselors, and lay people to integrate into their premarital preparation and marriage counsel. Journeying Through Reproductive Loss with Hope: An Online Course for Couples in Marriage or Pre-Marriage Counseling provides those in the faith-based community the means to counsel potential loss or embrace hope during suffering. While reproductive loss spans a wide range of losses, Journeying Through Reproductive Loss with Hope will specifically address miscarriage, stillbirth, infertility, and abortion. Effective ministry in pregnancy loss requires readily available tools for such in-depth care. Thus, this program provides the counselor a path to discuss reproductive loss topics within marriage or pre-marriage counseling sessions.
