Game theory is a tool used to study the strategic interactions among designers and clients, which has a potential to improve the process. Decision making has not been exhaustively studied in architectural design, but it has been studied in engineering design and software architecture for several years. Several decision makers and designers are involved in the architectural process, including designers, developers, clients and end users. Although those decision makers have different perspectives they jointly determine the effectiveness and success of the design. In this paper, a game theory framework is proposed to address the architecture decision making process. The proposed objectives are to generate a modelling framework for a design process for architecture and also provide qualitative insights. The proposed framework includes five stages namely game definition, decision analysis, evaluation of strategies, combining the evaluation and decision based on equilibrium. Within the proposed framework, we model the uncertainty involving client's subjective evaluations. The game theory is used to find the optimal combination of strategies in the interactive decision situations. The application of the proposed theory is illustrated by an example.
