This study utilizes the Developmental Research and Utilization Model (DRU) to develop an integrative mentoring program that addresses the needs of impoverished youth and incorporates elements of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy through group and individual sessions. The integrative program combines evidence based and promising mentoring programs and practices with core components of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. The program development phase included partnerships with local churches, community organizations and former members of the community. These components will combine to create the Roots and Wings mentoring program.
