The concept of a home court advantage existing within professional sports, specifically the National Basketball Association (NBA) is not a new phenomenon or area of interest among athletes, coaches, fans, and the media. In this study, the researcher examined home and away records in two major areas within the NBA during the 20132014 regular season; The Eastern and Western Conferences, and the Central and Pacific Divisions. The data were analyzed and t-Tests showed that both hypotheses for the study were rejected. The Western Conference had more home court wins than the Eastern Conference (385-329, + 56 Western Conference), disproving hypothesis number one. The Central Division did not have more home court wins than the Pacific Division (108- 118, + 10 Pacific Division) in the NBA also disproving the second hypothesis of the study. The research question was answered positively as there was a home court advantage in the NBA during the 2013-2014 NBA regular season with 714 wins on home courts versus 516 wins on road courts.
