This qualitative case study was designed to explore the perceptions 11th and 12th grade teachers held toward creative thinking skills and their implementation within the classroom and curriculum. The problem was high school teachers lacked the resources and abilities to implement creative thinking skills in the classroom, which created a decrease in student and teacher creativity, classroom culture, curriculum development, training, and time for skill experimentation. Three research questions were the base of this study. Research question 1: In what ways do the perceptions of high school teachers influence their use of creative thinking skills in the classroom? Research question 2: What are teachers' perceptions on their current use of creative thinking skills within the classroom and the impact these skills have on classroom culture? Research question 3: What are the teachers' perceptions on creative thinking skills and the role they play in curriculum development? Data for this study was gathered through 18 in-depth interviews of 11th and 12th grade teachers and followed up with a focus group selected from the same sample. Upon application of a deep and thorough reflexive thematic analysis of gathered data, the results of the findings indicated that teachers' perceptions toward creative thinking skills directly impact their use of them in the classroom and curriculum. In addition, results of the findings indicated that teachers often erroneously believed creative thinking skills were interchangeable with differentiation and problem-solving or critical thinking. The recommendation is that school districts need to acknowledge the importance of the implementation of creative thinking skills. They also need to invest in a holistic approach to creative thinking skills including workshops that take place three times throughout the school year as well as embedding creative thinking skills within the fabric of their educational vision.
