This qualitative case study explored the strategies leaders use for knowledge sharing to improve employee performance. Given the lack of leaders' knowledge-sharing strategies that improve employee performance, the study sought to understand how leaders use knowledge sharing strategies to improve employee performance and why do leaders consider knowledge sharing strategies effective in improving employee performance. The research used the knowledge-sharing model to analyze data from 9 in-depth interviews, a focus group, and documents to understand strategy development and implementation strategies from a knowledge sharing and organizational learning perspective. The results indicated a prevalence for organizational trust and revealed the importance of leaders building trusted relationships among teams and creating supportive work environments to promote knowledge sharing activities thereby enabling continuous learning opportunities for all employees. The findings indicated a connection between the tenets of the knowledge sharing model and successful leaders' strategies for knowledge sharing to improve employee performance. The study also revealed specific leaders' insights related to approaches for successful implementation of a knowledge sharing model to improve employee performance. The implications of the study for business are leaders seeking to optimize their employee performance may successfully employ knowledge sharing strategies by leveraging the tenets of knowledge sharing model: organizational commitment, organizational environment, organizational interaction, organizational structure, and organizational trust. The implications for future research are expanding the sample population to include leaders outside the United States.
