Children who are slow in learning, have difficulty in communication and challenge in writing are often times considered dullard or unintelligent pupils whereas they are suffering from learning disability. Often times, teachers who are in charge of this pupils are not equipped with the knowledge, experience and competence to deal with this kind of pupils. Therefore, this study examined preschool teachers awareness, knowledge and competence in early identification of children with learning disabilities in Ogbomosho North Local Government Area of Oyo State, Nigeria. The study employed descriptive survey research design. The population comprised of all preschool teachers in Ogbomosho North Local Government were 3960, out of whih 196 preschool teachers were selected from 21 schools using proportional sampling techniques.The instruments for data collection was titled 'Preschool Teachers Awareness of Children with Learning Disabilities Questionnaire 1(PTACLDQ)', 'Preschool Teachers Knowledge of Children with Learning Disabilities Test 2(PTKCLDT)', and Teachers' Competentence in Early Identification of Children with Learning Disabilities Questionnaire 3(TCEICLDQ)'. The reliability coefficient of the instruments are: 0.79, 0.78, and 0.72 respectively. Nine research hypotheses were tested in this study. ANOVA and Independent samples t-test were used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that there was significant difference in preschool teachers' awareness of children with learning disabilities in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area Oyo State based on teachers' qualification (F4,55=105.881, p<0.05), there was significant difference in preschool teachers' knowledge of children with learning disabilities in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area Oyo State based on teachers' qualification (F4,55=3.996, p<0.05), there was significant difference in preschool teachers' competence of children with learning disabilities in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area Oyo State based on teachers' qualification (F4,55=244.621, p<0.05), there was significant difference in preschool teacher's awareness of children with learning disabilities in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area Oyo State based on teacher's experience (F4,55=157.129, p<0.05), there was no significant difference in preschool teacher's awareness of children with learning disabilities in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area Oyo State based on gender (t = -.1.982; df = 58; P >0.05), there was no significant difference in preschool teacher's knowledge of early identification of children with learning disabilities in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area Oyo State based on gender (t = .179; df = 58; P >0.05), there was no significant difference in preschool teacher's competence in early identification of children with learning disabilities in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area Oyo State based on gender (t =-1.820; df = 58; P >0.05). Based on the findings of the study, it was revealed that teachers awareness of learning disability, teachers knowledge and teachers qualification, teachers experience, teachers gender and teachers competence are the essential components that determine how a preschool teacher can identify early learning disabilities among preschool pupils in Ogbomosho North Local Government Area of Oyo State. LD as a course should be put into curriculum of college of education to improve teacher's qualification in identifying learning disability, Teachers' should be encouraged to attend seminars, training and workshops on learning disabilities, and how to identify them in pupils which will result to good performance in pupils, Teachers' should be encouraged to upgrade their awareness and knowledge on learning disabilities in order to increase their competence on handling pupils with learning disability.
