The United States (U.S.) manufacturing sector has faced significant challenges to maintain sustainable employment rates, losing eight million jobs between 1997 and 2012. Despite modest employment base expansion during 2010, 2011, and 2012, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projected the manufacturing sector employment base is still expected to decrease 0.7% annually from 2014 through 2024. In today's global market, location decisions include several long-term factors including cost structure stability, environmental regulations, and social responsibility components. U.S. companies are considering returning business activities to the U.S. in hopes to find a more stable business environment. The research study addresses the substantial domestic market share reduction of the U.S. apparel manufacturing industry, which has contributed to the overall loss of direct and indirect manufacturing jobs. The purpose of this quantitative research is to investigate the feasibility of the hybrid eco-friendly fast-fashion apparel manufacturing business model, as a way to reverse the U.S. apparel manufacturing industry employment base trends, which is projected to decrease 5.9% annually until 2024. Potential demand for the eco-friendly fast-fashion apparel products in the U.S. market is investigated with a meta-analysis of four comparable scholarly studies. The meta-analysis emphasis is on consumers' purchasing intentions, product price sensibility, and industry's environmental impact awareness. With thorough research combining all four studies, approximately 1,656 participants' survey responses are utilized in the meta-analysis. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' employment projections methodology is utilized to project the potential employment base expansion, based upon the projected demand for such apparel products in the U.S. market.
