There are a variety of tools created and maintained by the open source community that allow for real-time networked audio music production ecosystems over standard Internet connections. The goal of this project is to understand the potential for deployment of current open source tools for collaborative networked audio production use cases that are not centered around the critical low-latency needs of live music performance and recording. A proof-of-concept system that would explore the control and audio performance of these tools was identified. This system design goal is to provide a basic networked audio mix control surface with full resolution audio monitoring capability.
