Thesis (M.A.)--University of South Carolina, 2009.
Includes bibliographical references
This thesis will explore the evolution of Yoko Ono's artistic works throughout her career and will ultimately argue that this evolution was greatly influenced by her political ideology. I will follow the career of Yoko Ono from its beginnings in New York in the early 1960s until the present day, tracing the way her political ideology became a larger and larger force in her work. Through close examinations of the various works that have made up Ono's repertoire, it will examine to what extent her political ideology influenced her work and how it evolved to become the chief reason why people know about her.
