In the last two decades, more and more bilingual schools have grown and developed prosperously. At the end of the year 2016, Proposition 58 passed in California, which means public schools are now authorized to establish dual-language immersion programs. It can be anticipated that both the number and the need of public bilingual schools and programs will accelerate in the near future. It therefore becomes very valuable for schools and educators to study parents' expectations at the moment. However, there is very little research on the theme. To fill this gap, this research explored expectations of parents who enroll their children in bilingual schools. Parents expressed their expectations for children, schools, programs and teachers. The findings of the study will help bilingual schools to build a mutual goal with parents and obtain their support and participation. They will also help educators to develop better bilingual curriculum and teacher training programs.
