Institutions still face a major problem in student attrition. Despite the research done and the programs implemented as a result, students still choose to leave school before completing their degree. Also, students are facing more external pressures, such as the increase in campus incidents, which further increases the need for school administrators to find a new perspective to handle this issue. In previous literature, the issues students face in the form of academic and financial challenges have been identified, but there is not as much research done on the motivational and psychosocial aspects of students. Assessment of students' emotional intelligence and resilience levels through surveys was conducted to understand the effects of introducing these principles through an online course. A sequential explanatory method was used to gather quantitative and qualitative data in order to determine whether the course had an effect on emotional intelligence and resilience levels and the possible effects on students' attitudes. The subquestions that were examined dealt with the possible relationship of the pre- and postsurvey scores and the possible relationship with the online course and the actual changes in student attitudes after taking the course. The results were inconclusive due to an insufficient number of participants, but there were positive signs that the course was effective and warrants further studies to gather empirical data.
