The purpose of this research was to identify the perceptions that exist between restaurant administrators and school administrators in order to assist with advancing knowledge associated with underutilized resources that may impact school performance. There no research available to assist with the perceptions between restaurant administrators and their local school administrators. How they see one another can play a pivotal role in impacting community service, especially as it relates to assisting with the development of children. This qualitative phenomenological study used a parallel design that included semi-structured, open-ended interviews and Likert-item surveys to capture data from restaurants and school administrators. Three central themes that emerged from this study about relationships between restaurant and school administrators is three dimensional: isolated, minor, and united. This study elucidated the impact that community development and participation have on school systems, especially in climates with adverse economic conditions. Data has shown that effective communication is vital among restaurant and school administrators. This level of community participation leads to other opportunities, such as facilitating charity events, seminars, and matters of festivity that include restaurants and community members. Recommendations are made that can bridge the relationship between restaurants and schools that would impact the enrichment of students.
