Thesis (Ph.D.)--Saint Louis University, 2018.
Includes bibliographical references
This study explores relationships of student mindfulness and resilience with student stress, depression, and anxiety before and after a first-year seminar course introducing mindfulness and resilience techniques to undergraduate Saint Louis University (SLU) students. Mindfulness and resilience concepts and practice were introduced through large lectures and presentations given by leading professionals at SLU, and were supported by instructor training for the intervention sections of the first-year seminar course. Mindfulness was found to be a significant predictor for student stress and depression and contributed to student's self-reported levels of stress and depression.
