Circle practices and principles that form the foundation of the circle classrooms that are the focus of this study are grounded in the work of Christina Baldwin and Ann Linnea as found in their book titled The Circle Way: A Leader in Every Chair (2010), a replicable social structure developed to sustain the practice of holding meaningful dialogue. This study explored the implementation of circle classroom methodology by three first-year teachers in order to better understand how it can be used to develop the cultural infrastructure of a dialogic classroom. This multiple case study presents three cases of circle methodology implementation in classrooms in Nebraska. Data was collected by interviewing the teachers and observing them in their classrooms. Additionally, document collection and analysis served to provide further insight into the use of circle methodology in the classroom.

The central question this study sought to answer was "How do first-year teachers use circle classroom methodology in the development of cultural infrastructure in the classroom?" In order to provide insight on this question, three cases are presented through narrative descriptions of the interviews, observations, and documents collected in this study. Next an analysis of each case is presented as guided by the sub-questions of this study. A cross-case analysis of the practices of the participants is then presented in relation to emerged themes. Finally, the study concludes by returning to the central question of the study, followed by assertions and suggestions for further study.
