Retention of teachers is becoming a complex issue that has been linked to both teacher training requisites and administrative issues. The massive exodus of teachers from their profession has been a worrying trend, and a quicker diagnosis is needed to save the situation. This study aims to explain why teacher retention is becoming more complex and whether it is due to administrator leadership style or teacher training requisites. A qualitative exploratory study was done to investigate teachers' experiences, perceptions, and challenges concerning their professional development and support systems. Semi-structured interviews and open-ended surveys were used to collect data collection through face-to-face, email, and video conferencing from educators - particularly teachers and school administrators - as they have a decisive influence on shaping educational landscapes and the fluctuation of teacher retention rates. Thematic analysis showed that leadership style, organizational culture, and intrinsic motivators are factors that shape the retention outcomes of teachers. A strong organizational culture and effective leadership are essential for retaining teachers and were noted as important factors toward teachers' retention, with data showing that a school culture marked by mutual trust, cooperation, and career development leads to increasing teacher satisfaction and increased retention. The study recommended the creation of a welcoming and acceptable school environment characterized by competent leadership and open communication that adds to the knowledge of the elements that influence teacher retention, highlighting the significance of encouraging leadership and assistance for new teachers. Therefore, establishing stable learning environments and prioritizing strong leadership practices and support systems for newly hired teachers will benefit educators and students.
